Picnic Spots

BELKAHVE          

Belkahve is located on the twentieth kilometre of the İzmir-Ankara highway and covers a 5-hectare red pine forest. With a daily visitor capacity of 1000 people, there are facilities where picnic equipment and social needs can be met in the area. İzmir - Kemalpaşa minibuses pass in front of the picnic area.


ÇİÇEKLİKÖY

Shortly after taking a right turn on the twentieth kilometre of the İzmir-İstanbul highway, the picnic areas in Çiçekliköy can be stopped by on the way. There are stores, toilets, and picnic spots in the different facilities on an area of 80 hectares. Picnic spots in Çiçekliköy are especially in demand with its lushness in springtime.


EFEOĞLU

The facilities on the twenty-second kilometres of the İzmir-Aydın highway are located in Yeşilköy. Efeoğlu picnic spots have units for social needs to meet, and it covers a 24-hectare area where the capacity is 3000 persons on a daily basis. In terms of transportation, İzmir-Torbalı minibuses can be taken.


KARAGÖL

Karagöl, which was first mentioned in the Tantalus myth, is located on The Mountain of Yamanlar. The lake, with 35 decares of the water surface; formed because of the tectonic earth movements. Small, circular, and with a worth-seeing scenic lake is surrounded by pine trees. Karagöl is an ideal place for enthusiasts of nature and hiking.


ÇEŞME – ALTINKUM

Altınkum road, which is on the Çeşme-Çiftlikköy road and only 10 kilometres away from Çeşme, consists of 6 kilometres of asphalt, and the rest is stabilized. Altınkum, with an area of 15 kilometres, is covered with maquis trees.


ÇEŞME-TANAY

Tanay, which is located on the way İzmir-Çeşme road, 70 kilometres away from İzmir and 8 kilometres away from Çeşme and near Ilıca Beach, covers 70 hectares area. Red pines, umbrella pines, and maritime pines create the natural vegetation of the region. Near the coast on the northwestern side of the facility, which is with a capacity of 2000 visitors on a daily basis, comes hot water out of the sea. Quality beaches and the distance advantage of the nearby touristic facilities increase the demand for this picnic spot. This picnic spot, which has a campsite with 100 tents, sanitary facilities, picnic tables, mangals, water sources, and a parking lot, is in great attention between May and September. For transportation, Çeşme buses departing from Üçkuyular Terminal every half hour can be used. 


ÇEŞME – UZUNKUYU

Uzunkuyu is located on the sixtieth kilometres of the İzmir-Çeşme highway, inside a red pine forest. The capacity of Uzunkuyu Picnic Spot, which covers an area of 20 hectares, is 1000 visitors daily. There are stores, sanitary facilities, a playground, and picnic equipment. Çeşme buses departing from Üçkuyular Terminal are an option for transportation. 


KEMALPAŞA-KARABEL

Karabel is located on the Kemalpaşa-Torbalı highway in a 20- hectares of pine forest, which is 10 kilometres away from Kemalpaşa and 50 kilometres from İzmir. One of the reasons why visitors give special attention to the region is the Hittite Warrior Relief on the Karabel Pass, a legacy of the Hittite Civilization. There is also an aquaculture facility on Nif Mountain.


MENDERES – GÜMÜLDÜR

Gümüldür, which is 75 kilometres away from the city centre, covers an 8-hectares coastal line has a capacity of 2000 daily visitors. The facility has a special camping area of 300 tents, an open-air restaurant, stores, bakery, changing rooms, sanitary facilities and picnic equipment.


MENDERES/ AHMETBEYLİ – KARGICAK

Kargıcak, located on the Ahmetbeyli-Gümüldür coastal line and 5 kilometres away from Klaros, was opened for service in 1994. Its daily capacity is 3000. Kargıcak is 75 kilometres from the city centre and 30 kilometres away from Kuşadası and encloses a 5-hectares area. İzmir-Gümüldür minibuses pass right in front of the region.


MENDERES/ AHMETBEYLİ - DENİZPINARI (KLAROS)

Klaros is located on an 80-hectare appealing bay on Ahmetbeyli-Gümüldür coastal line. Denizpınarı Picnic Spot, which is 70 kilometres from the city centre, 40 kilometres from Menderes District, and 25 kilometres away from Kuşadası, is also convenient for sightseeing with an exquisite sea view. Klaros Ancient City is also here. The capacity is 3000 visitors and a camping site of 100 tents.


MENDERES/ÖZDERE – KALEMLİK

Kalemlik is located on the Ahmetbeyli-Gümüldür coastal line and is 2 kilometres from Özdere and 5 Kilometres away from Gümüldür. The picnic spot covers a 40-hectare area and has a camping site, a modern restaurant of 300 people, an open-air restaurant, a café, picnic tables, water sources, and a parking lot. Buses departing from İzmir Terminal and Üçkuyular Terminal can be used for transportation.


MENEMEN – YAHŞELLİ ÇAMLIĞI

Menemen Çamlığı is colloquially known as Emiralem. Yahşelli Çamlığı covers a 4-hectares of red pine forest in Menemen, which is located on the third kilometre of Manisa highway, which is 30 kilometres away from the city centre. There are water resources, sanitary facilities, and picnic equipment available. It can be reached by Menemen- Manisa minibuses.


ÖDEMİŞ/BOZDAĞ – MERMEROLUK (KIRKOLUK)

Mermeroluk Picnic Spot, located on a 5-hectare area covered with chestnut and larch trees on Ödemiş Bozdağ Plateau, are 100 kilometres away from the city centre, 25 kilometres from Ödemiş and 1 kilometre from Bozdağ Town. The picnic spot has chestnut and plane trees as natural monuments.

The picnic spot can be reached through Birgi; that way, it is possible to see this historical town and Çakırağa Mansion. The döner restaurant belonging to the municipality on the dominant hills between Gölcük and Mermeroluk can also be an option for those interested. It has facilities where human needs can be met.


ÖDEMİŞ – GÖLCÜK

The picnic area is located on a 4-hectare region in the Gölcük plateau and has a panoramic view of the lake. The daily visitor capacity is 200 people. There are natural monument trees around. It is narrated that Ottoman princes studied under chestnut trees among them. There are sanitary facilities and picnic equipment.   


SEFERİHİSAR / DOĞANBEY – KARGICAK

It is located on the Seferihisar coastal line. It is 7 kilometres from Seferihisar and 50 kilometres from the city centre. Kargıcak Bay, with its untouched nature, embodies a 320-hectare area. It has options both for daily camp and trailer camp. It has a capacity of 200 tents and 2000 daily visitors. 


SEFERİHİSAR / TEOS – ÇAMLIK

It is 50 kilometres from the city centre and 5 kilometres from Seferihisar. It has the capacity of 1500 visitors on a 10-hectare red pine forest. The picnic spot, near the Teos Ancient City, has stores, water resources, sanitary facilities, picnic equipment, and a parking lot. On the way to Teos-Çamlık, Sığacık Marine and a castle of the Ottoman era can be visited. 


SEFERİHİSAR / TEOS-EKMEKSİZ

The picnic spot with a fascinating sea view is located on the Sığacık Marine and is on the sixty-sixth kilometre of the İzmir-Kuşadası highway; it is also very close to the Teos Ancient City. Teos Ekmeksiz Picnic Spot has a camping site, an open-air restaurant, picnic tables, mangals, water resources, and sanitary facilities and covers 7-hectares.


SELÇUK - PAMUCAK 

Pamucak Picnic Spot is located on the eighth kilometre of the Selçuk-Kuşadası highway, and it is 82 kilometres away from the city centre. Pamucak encloses an 8-hectare area and has an open-air restaurant, picnic equipment, sanitary facilities, a playground, and a beautiful sea view. On the way to Pamucak, Ephesus Ancient City and Virgin Mary’s House can be visited.


URLA – GÜVENDİK

Güvendik covers 15-hectares area in Urla Çeşmealtı. The picnic spot with its captivating sea view is only 55 kilometres from city centre. The buses and minibuses departing from Üçkuyular Terminal can be taken. Picnic equipment, water resources and sanitary facilities are available.


URLA – DEMİRCİLİ

Demircili Village in Urla, near the city centre, with its natural wonders and tourism potential, enables exploration and investment opportunities. Demircili Village, 16 kilometres from the southwest of Urla, resembles a piece from heaven. Demircili portrays an image of a village that is open for investment and seizes the first rows to become the favourite of Urla, with its lushness, popular veggies and fruits, coast, and the site for outdoor sports. On the west side of the village, there is an ancient region called Airai. To discover Airai, a field trip is the only essential. It is a matter of time before visitors can encounter any ancient artifacts while walking on the field. The seaside of the peninsula is natural, and most of them are surrounded by clean beaches. The sources of income of the local people, who are generally immigrants from Greece of Yörük origin, are fishing and growing artichoke, olives, tomatoes, and a little bit of tourism. Demircili embraces the blue and green companionship of the world and is a place where all nature’s beauty can be seen with its blue sea hidden behind the fragrant pines.

Demircili Village, located south of Urla and west of Sığacık, can be reached by car on the way to Çeşme, leaving the highway at the Karaburun turnoff; after seeing the signboard of “Demircili Köyü” and its worth-seeing forest view that accompanies the visitors along the way. The visitors who prefer to take the bus; first need to reach Fahrettin Altay from the city centre (Konak), then; with the buses to Urla or Seferihisar, it is possible to get to the districts through Üçkuyular and from there to Demircili by morning-noon and afternoon shuttles. It is also a good opportunity for those who want to visit the village where the greens and blues of nature combine after an average 1-hour journey. In addition, the bays as beautiful as an aquarium are also famous for their colourful stones. 

Demircili, a hidden natural wonder, is also a village where Aegean Region’s most consumed and favoured veggies and fruits are grown. The Demircili Village, populated by approximately 200 people, invites visitors to nature tours with its playgrounds, outdoor sports sites, restaurants for breakfasts and Aegean Cuisine, and forests full of pine trees. Its decorated road with pine trees through the wood, family-friendly restaurants, and SUVs and ATVs available for rent allow celebrating nature to its fullest.
