ÇEŞME-ILICA-ŞİFNE
Çeşme, which is known to be built by Pamphylia, Caria, and Lycians and has not only an international reputation as one of the main tourist centres of Turkey with its beaches but also is a centre of attraction with its healing hot springs in Şifne.
The reputation of Ilıca Beach, with its delicate and white sands, has exceeded the borders of our country. Thermal waters come out of the sea in the Şifne area, and the mud formed in the hot springs can be used as a beauty potion. Şifne area is equipped with numerous hotels, motels, and hostels with all types of comforts that provide domestic and international tourism. In addition to all, Çeşme is surrounded by about 20 bays such as Aya Yorgi, Pırlanta, Paşa Limanı, Tur Site, and Çiftlik. Çeşme has also natural wonders like Dalyan, famous for its fishes, and extremely colourful entertainment life, especially during summertime.
Çeşme Castle and the museum here are a unique experience for history enthusiasts. There is an ongoing project for creating an underwater archaeology museum in the museum inside the castle.
ÇEŞMEALTI
Çeşmealtı, which is 36 kilometres away from the city centre (Konak), is not only famous for its hot springs located in the İçmeler region but also is famous for its beaches. After the increase in population during the summer season, the coastal line continues from İçmeler beaches until Karaburun. The Kokar Bay on your way to Urla is a great tourist destination with its untouched nature.
AKKUM
Akkum Beaches, located in the Sığacık region, which is 5 kilometres away from Seferihisar District are popular with its crystal-clear sea, sparkling sands, and sea suitable for surfing. It is 1 kilometre walking distance from Teo's Ancient City, which has unique ancient structures such as the Temple of Dionysus and the Athena Sanctuary. Akkum Beaches have the opportunity to organize a daily trip as well as tourist facilities. While the Port of Sığacık has a glorious appearance at sunset in the evening, you can both have quality time at the bars and restaurants here and taste the freshest sea foods.
BALIKLIOVA-MORDOĞAN
In the light of the excavations conducted in Karaburun, located in the north of the Urla Peninsula at various periods, it is understood that the district founded by the Hittites in 3000 B.C.E. Balıklıova is the first settlement that you can come across after passing the Urla centre and taking a right from the intersection in front of The Institute of Technology. After Balıklıova, zigzag coastal line reaches from Mordoğan to Karaburun. Although the Karaburun and Mordoğan regions have uncorrupted nature, these areas have not yet improved in terms of touristic facilities, the region is still an ideal place for those who want to be alone with nature and to have peace. Also, they are considered to be the best places to hunt the most delicious fish from the Aegean Sea.
DİKİLİ
Dikili,120 kilometres away from the city centre, has a history dating back to 5000-4000 B.C.E. According to archaeological excavations held in the region, it is found that Achaeans lived here and named the city Aternagus. Dikili is known for its hot springs like Nebiler, Bademli, and Kocaoba, and has very long beaches. The sea is suitable for swimming in most parts of the coast along the beach in the Dikili centre. The region is full of holiday sites where the prices of accommodation facilities are considerably affordable.
FOÇA
Foça District, where shortly after passing Menemen and by taking a left turn from the İzmir-Çanakkale highway, is popular with endangered Mediterranean Monk Seals and the Siren Cliffs where these creatures live, red mullets and breams. Between Foça and New Foça is adorned with beautiful bays embracing pine trees. Foça also appeals to tourists with its castle, historical artifacts, and magnificent nature. There are a lot of beaches and accommodation facilities in New Foça.
ÖZDERE-GÜMÜLDÜR
Özdere (Kesre) is located in the Aegean Coastal Line starting from Ephesus, where it was once home to the Ionians, and reaches Teo’s. Currently known as Özdere, first appeared in the historical context as Kesre. After the establishment of The Republic of Türkiye, it was named Özdere. The district is one of the most preferred holiday villages because of its broad coast and equipped facilities.
PAMUCAK BEACH
Pamucak, in the Kuşadası direction, where 8 kilometres away from Ephesus, which was one of the most significant cities of the old ages, with its Ancient Theatre, and Celsius Library, is famous for its vast beaches and sands. Pamucak Beach attracts tourists with its untouched vision. The beach is advertised as a “Tourism Centre” and has various facilities.
KLİZMAN BEACH
In addition to the beaches, people show incredible interest in Klitzman beaches, especially during summer for purposes of sightseeing and picnic place. Urla Klitzman Beach has numerous bays covered with sea, sand, and tree.
YASSICAADA
Yassıcaada, located on the Urla offshore, became one of the attraction centres with the help of the facilities and landscape changes made by İzmir Municipality. Yassıcaada, where daily transportation provided by İzdeniz during summertime, captivates visitors with its clear sea and calm environment.
ÇANDARLI
Çandarlı, located 84 kilometres from the city centre, surrounded on three sides by the sea and in the shape of a peninsula, is a remarkable place with its fish, bays, and the castle inherited from Ottoman Empire. The stones used during the construction of the castle carry the marks of ancient times. Çandarlı is already one of the first settlements of Hittites and named “Pitane." It is considered an appropriate place for a calm and comfortable holiday.
