Foça Siren Cliffs

In Greek mythology, sirens are sea creatures believed to live on rocky and empty islands. Sirens appear before us for the first time in the saga of Odyssey. Sirens have a bird-shaped body with wide wings and a female head. Their faces and voices are beautiful. They mumble songs all the time. Sailors passing through here were fascinated by the songs that the sirens sang, driving their ships unconsciously to the cliffs, and their ships were torn apart and eaten by the sirens.

Small islets near Orak Island in Foça Sea where no living creatures live is known as “Siren Cliffs”
