Rosaar (Tepebasi) Synagogue

Roshaar Synagogue is located on 281 Street in Yukarı Karataş. It was built in the early 20th century. The entrance gate, which has been raised three steps from 281 Street, reaches the yard of the synagogue. The synagogue has a central plan. On the axle of the entrance door, the entrance to the main space is from a terrace which can be reached by twelve steps from the yard. As in the Talmud Tora and Bikur Holim Synagogues, there is no additional entrance space to the main space. Mehizah part of the synagogue is not available today. The rows of seats surround the tevya in the middle of the space. The building is single storey and built as stone masonry. Its roof is wooden construction. Floor covering is tile mosaic. The tevya of this synagogue which is not used today is located on an octagonal platform that attracts attention with its wooden workmanship, the platform is raised up with six steps. There are three torah cabinets and they are placed on the hekal wall and can be entered from a platform raised by three steps from the floor. It is extremely plain except the platform of tevya in terms of interior decoration. The door of the synagogue to the yard was walled and turned into a window.
