İzmir Painting and Sculpture Museum

History
İzmir Painting and Sculpture Museum was opened in Kültürpark in September 9, 1952 as a gallery, then it was moved to the Atatürk Boulevard and it was the first service of the government in the field of plastic arts.
When the gallery was opened, both the artists in İzmir and the Government Exhibitions, which is organized annually, found an opportunity to exhibit their works. Since the year it was established, İzmir Painting and Sculpture Museum and Gallery also made important contributions that revived the art life of the city by organizing exhibition activities and painting courses for beginners.
1973 was a year when important changes were made for İzmir Painting and Sculpture Museum. With the efforts of Turgut Pura, who was the manager of the establishment, Painting and Sculpture Gallery was turned into a museum and it was moved to the building in Konak. Thanks to Turgut Pura's great efforts, today the museum has an extensive painting and sculpture collection.İzmir Painting and Sculpture Museum was opened as a gallery in the Maarif Vekaleti building, which is in the Kültürpark and which was designed by Bruno Taut, in September 9, 1952 and it continued to serve in its building in Konak from 1973 to 2022. The museum was moved to Kültürpark after the earthquake in October 30, 2020, then it started to serve in March 25, 2022 and opened its doors for art-lover visitors in İzmir Culture and Arts Factory in April 2023 once again.

Exhibited Works
In the museum, along with the works of outstanding painters such as Şeker Ahmet Paşa, Halil Paşa, Mülazım Remzi, Sülayman Seyyid Bey, İbrahim Çallı, Hikmet Onat, Namık İsmail, Şevket Dağ, Zeki Kocamemi, Mahmud Cuda, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Nurullah Berk, Cemal Tollu, Abidin Elderoğlu, Nuri İyem, Fahrelnisa Zeid, Mubin Orhon, Sabri Berkel, Neşet Günal, Turan Erol, Adnan Çoker, Halil Akdeniz, Neşe Erdok, Devrim Erbil; important works of the sculptors such as Turgut Pura, Kuzgun Acar, Zühtü Müridoğlu, Ali Hadi Bara, Ferit Özşen, Sadi Öziş and ceramic artists such as Füreya Koral, Bingül Başarır, Mustafa Tunçalp, Mehmet Tüzüm Kızılcan are also exhibited.
